She will take part in two friendly matches against Canada, the first of which will be next Saturday (28), at 15:30 (Brasília time), at the Saputo Stadium in Montreal. This will be coach Arthur Elias' debut in charge of the team, following the departure of Pia Sundhage. Brena had already been called up by Elias in September.
Brena called up to women's national soccer team
Midfielder Brena, known as Sereia da Vila, has been called up by coach Arthur Elias to play in a friendly against Canada. She will join Camila Rodrigues and Cristiane, who were also called up earlier. Brena's call-up comes after Real Madrid defender Kathellen was unable to appear on the FIFA date due to hip discomfort.
The national team is now in Montreal
Gabi Nunes and Antonia, both from Real Madrid, were the first players to report to the national team in Montreal. Throughout the day, other players, such as Marta and Adriana, also joined the group. The squad is complete and ready for the friendlies.
The first press conference was attended by Adriana, striker for Orlando Pride, and Angelina, midfielder for O L Reign. The players are confident about the new cycle of the national team under Elias, who led the Corinthians women's team to a four-times Copa Libertadores title.
Adriana praised Elias' work and believes that the team will continue with the same intense and winning attitude as Corinthians. Angelina said she was looking forward to the first friendly against Canada and stressed that the players were understanding the style of play proposed by the coach.
