Corinthians beat Internacional on penalties to advance to the final of the Women's Libertadores
Corinthians overcame Internacional 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time to secure their place in the final of the Copa Libertadores women's soccer tournament, where they will face Palmeiras in a historic derby for the title. The Timon's Brabas secured their place in the final on Wednesday (18) at the Estadio Olímpico Pascual Guerrero in Cali.

This will be the second Brazilian final in the history of the continental competition, after Corinthians won their second Women's Libertadores title in 2019 by beating Ferroviária 2-0 in the final in Ecuador.
Betting on a reactive game, in which they used counter-attacks as their main weapon, Internacional scored first. In the 31st minute, Belén Aquino launched Priscila deep. The No 19 set off at speed and hit the ball past goalkeeper Lelê. However, in the 33rd minute Vic Albuquerque scored with a great header to make it all square and force a penalty shoot-out.
In the penalty shoot-out, the Brabas of Timão were more efficient than the Gurias Coloradas to close out the match 4-3 and secure their place in the final.

The final of the Women's Libertadores will be played next Saturday (21), starting at 20:30 (Brasilia time), at the Estadio Pascual Guerrero.
