Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah calls for an end to "massacres" in Gaza

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah used his social media account to call for an end to the "massacres" in Gaza and for the immediate authorisation of humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave. The player posted a video message after being criticised for his silence on the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that more than 3,400 Palestinians have been killed and more than 12,000 injured in Israeli air strikes since the beginning of the conflict. However, it is still unclear when and if aid lorries from Egypt will be able to enter Gaza, as the Egyptian government is seeking security guarantees from Israel.

The Israeli government has said that it will not prevent aid from Egypt from entering Gaza, but emphasised that the supplies must not reach Hamas.

Salah emphasised the importance of protecting all lives and expressed the need to stop the massacres, highlighting the terrible conditions faced by families in Gaza. He stressed the urgency of immediately authorising humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the local population.
