Brazilian athletics wins gold and silver in women's discus throw

This Monday (30), Brazilian athletics had an exceptional performance in the women's discus throw at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Izabela Rodrigues, born in Adamatina (SP), secured the gold medal by reaching the mark of 59m63. Andressa Morais, from Paraíba, won the silver medal with a distance of 59m29. Jamaican Samantha Hall came in third place with 59m14.

In addition to these achievements, Brazil still has the chance to climb the podium in other sports tonight. They are: women's long jump, men's discus throw, women's 10,000 meter event and mixed 4 x 400 meter relay. With these two medals, Brazil already has three podiums in athletics at the Pan de Santiago. The first was achieved on Sunday (29) in the race walk, with Caio Bonfim winning silver.
