Botafogo vence o América-MG e amplia liderança no Brasileirão com golaços de Júnior Santos!

Botafogo beats América-MG and extends its lead in the Brasileirão with great goals from Júnior Santos!

Botafogo beat América-MG 2-1 at Independência, with the highlight being striker Júnior Santos, to extend their lead at the top of the Brazilian Championship. With this win, Botafogo reached 58 points, opening up a 12-point lead over second-placed Bragantino.

With this result, Botafogo broke a taboo of not having beaten América-MG as visitors in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship. Previously, Botafogo had only beaten Coelho away from home in a Serie B clash in 2015.

Botafogo dominated the game from the start, even playing away from home, and opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a fine goal from Júnior Santos. América-MG scored a goal in the 38th minute, but Júnior Santos scored again four minutes into the second half to secure Botafogo's victory.
