Brazil shines at the Pan American Games in Santiago with 15 medals: Tennis and canoeing slalom lead the podium

Between Saturday night (28) and Sunday morning (29), the Brazilian delegation won another 15 medals at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile. Highlights include tennis and canoeing slalom, in which Brazil had an exceptional performance.

In tennis, Brazil stood out in doubles tournaments, winning two golds and one silver. In the women's category, Luísa Stefani and Laura Pigossi, bronze at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, defeated Colombians Fernanda Herazo and Paulina Perez. This historic victory marked the first time since 2003 that Brazil won gold in the Pan women's doubles.

In the women's singles, Laura Pigossi will seek gold against Argentine Lourdes Carlé. Laura's victory in the semi-final guaranteed her place at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In the men's category, Brazil broke a 24-year fast and won the gold medal in the doubles, with Marcelo Demoliner and Gustavo Heide. André Sá and Paulo Taicher were the last Brazilians to win the men's doubles competition at the Pan.

In canoeing slalom, Ana Sátila was the biggest Brazilian star, winning gold in category C1 (individual canoeing) for the third time. Furthermore, Ana also won the kayak cross event. Guilherme Mapelli won gold in the men's kayak cross.

In CCE equestrian, Brazil won the bronze medal for teams, guaranteeing a place at the Paris Olympics. In the individual competition, Márcio Jorge won the silver medal.

In open water swimming, Ana Marcela Cunha won the silver medal in the ten kilometers. The race was challenging due to the low water temperature, but Ana Marcela showed her talent and secured a place on the podium.

In race walking, Caio Bonfim won the silver medal in the 20 kilometer race, adding three medals at the Pan American Games.

The Brazilian delegation continues to shine at the Pan American Games in Santiago, showing all its skill and talent in different sports.
