Brazil wins historic podium at world gymnastics championships
Brazil had an outstanding performance in the floor finals of the World Gymnastics Championships, held in Antwerp, Belgium. Last Sunday (8), Rebeca Andrade won the silver medal with 14.500 points, while Flávia Saraiva took bronze with 13.966 points. The American Simone Biles took gold.
History in Brazilian gymnastics
This achievement is historic for Brazilian gymnastics, as it is the first time that the country has had two representatives on the podium on the same apparatus at the world championships. The Brazilian team ended its participation in Belgium with a total of six medals, making it the best campaign in history.

On the last day of competition, Rebeca Andrade also won the bronze medal in the beam finals, with 14,300 points. This was the only event in which the Olympic champion had not yet won medals at the World Championships. The USA's Simone Biles was the winner with 14,800 points, followed by China's Yaqin Zhou with 14,700.
