Palmeiras beat Atlético Nacional to top Group A in the women's Libertadores
Palmeiras ended the first phase of the women's Copa Libertadores on a high note. The Brazilian team beat Atlético Nacional 4-3 in a match played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogotá, Colombia. With this victory, the Palestrinas took top spot in Group A.
At the start of the match, Atlético Nacional opened the scoring with a goal from Sara Córdoba in the first minute. However, with an inspired performance from Bia Zaneratto, who scored twice, Palmeiras came out on top and won the game in the end. As well as Zaneratto, Flávia Mota and Lorena Benítez also scored for the São Paulo side. Joselyn Espinales and Marcela Restrepo scored for the Colombians.
With this result, Palmeiras finish the group stage of the continental competition with a 100% record. Now, in the quarter-finals, the team will face the second-placed team from Group B.
